Snow Day!

We awoke to a couple inches of snow.  It wasn't as exciting as it sounds.  When I heard Jameson say, "Babe, it's snowing...a lot!"  I knew I was doomed.  This meant that I was forced out of our warm bed, and needed to take him to school.  Of course I didn't want him to have to walk, but I didn't necessarily want to go out in the freezing weather.  What happened to the days when I would wake up hoping that it had snowed a lot so that we could have a snow day?  I only remember one snow day in my existence, and I believe I was in 6th grade. It was so fun!  And now I'm old[er], and snow is a lot less fun.

What did we do for our snow day?  We watched movies, I made Au gratin potatoes, and we many treats and some strawberry shortcake....it was delicious!  Overall, it was an amazing day.

Friday, are you here already??

I'm extremely happy for Friday to come. This week has been nothing but nonsense and sickness.  We are tired of the cold and just dream of going on vacation.  Southern Utah? Yes, please.  Sadly, gas prices are going up (as we all knew they would!) and so our fun fund is going down.  I made our budget today, and just thought of all the places I want to go, people I want to see, and restaurants I would like to visit.  It all costs money, so we have to pick and choose.  This is the first time in my life that I won't be with my family for general conference.  But I'll be with Jameson and that will be good.

Today we started to apply for different housing. Excitement!  Our apartment here is just..gross.  Moldy.  Ew.  I think that that is what is making me sick.  Our windows are to blame.  There is no ventilation and the windows just fog up and have mucho condensation. It's just disgusting. And I miss having a dishwasher.  Well this new place we're looking at is a townhome, and super new and trendy.  AND only like 30 dollars more than this piece of junk. I just got so happy picturing the new place...decorating it, and just loving it.  Jameson is really ready for the change too.  But we our lease isn't even up here until August, so we are forced to live here a little bit longer.  Can't wait till it's warmer and our windows can be open and our electric bill can go down.

 Bring back those summer days!

We got Jameson's tax return (thank you Joel!) and so we have some more money!!! YAY!  Tomorrow we're going to Idaho Falls for a date.  Go to the temple, the mall, maybe out to eat and a movie.  It will be wonderful and we need it.  We're getting cabin fever having to stay inside all the time. And we're getting kind of crazy. We need to do something outside of Rexburg.  It will be nice.

Sleepless in Rexburg

Last night we were watching Lord of the Rings (for Family Home Evening) and we both took a good long nap in the middle. The problem with this is that I had a horrible time trying to fall asleep later that night.  I just kept thinking about everything, all at once.  I thought of different foods to cook, how I would design different sewing patterns, if I will be a good mom, how long we'll live in Rexburg, etc.  It was the worst.  So I barely got any sleep, and after I fell asleep I just had dreams about not being able to fall asleep!  Luckily, Jameson is just such a good little sleeper, and he just talked and did crazy things in his sleep. So funny

I spent the morning cleaning the apartment. It wasn't even really messy, just dishes mainly. But it still took a long time because I kept getting distracted...by good music, or emails, or blogs, there is just so much going on!  A friend came over and brought her little baby, a cute chubby boy with red curly hair (I want one!!!) and it was fun to talk to her for a while.

Today I had to work.  Just like every other week day.  Today was... a lot less than fun than usual.  I had a fever and just felt nauseous. BUT we need the money so I didn't go home early. I love my job actually. I get to have my own office, post things, answer the phone, take money from customers, listen to music, and my favorite thing... use my adding machine.  I love love love to type up hundreds of dollars on that baby.  I want one- really.  If someone bought me that for my birthday, I would be forever satisfied. I even took a picture so that you could all see my adding machine.

  (Isn't she beautiful??)

Now I want to discuss the new addition to our family... his name is Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.  We got him in the mail today and Jamie was just so excited!  We have been waiting for his arrival for quite some time. Jameson is actually playing right now.  I love watching the Lego people in that game, it's hilarious.  I'm going to play soon.  We're about to eat Blondies I made and ice cream. Mmmm... I can't help but love those delicious foods.

Love + Food = Happiness

Well Spring is finally here!!! And it just rained all day.  But I guess that is what they say... March showers bring more April showers?  I wish it was just sunny all the time.  There have been some bright and happy things that have happened lately though...

We went on a date Friday to a free foreign film on campus.  We usually try to go to them because they are funny, but mainly because they are free.  The movie this week was the Secret of Roan Inish. We were not impressed at all, we were quite bored.  So we bought a milkshake at a local shop and went on campus and watched a movie in a building (faster internet, comfy chairs, etc.).  I like to just get out of our tiny apartment and actually do something!

The rest of the weekend I cooked.  I love cooking.  Jameson is very encouraging of my talents.  Me: "I want to make some cinnnamon rolls, doesn't that sound good??"  Him: "YESSS! I love cinnamon rolls!"  Me: "But they take a long time, I don't want to be up all night."  Him: "It's okay, I'll stay up with you...as long as we get cinnamon rolls!!!" Ha... so there I was, taking them out of the oven at one in the morning.  But they are heavenly!  I usually like to make something special after church for our Sunday dinner.  This week, I chose to make chicken enchiladas.  My family only ever makes beef enchiladas, and I couldn't find a good recipe, so I just made up the recipe.  Jameson said it was one of my best dinners. I wouldn't go that far, but they were tasty.

Want or need?

This is the question we have to ask ourselves almost daily.  It's hard budgeting sometimes.  We run out of food all the time because we usually only buy the basics.  But what do we really need? Food storage.  We bought a lot of food this week and it made me super happy.  I love to cook, and how can I cook if Jameson doesn't give me fresh ingredients?! :)  I bought everything to make some chicken enchiladas (if you have any good recipes, send them my way, otherwise, I'm going to just wing it) and it made my day.  Cooking is to me like rafting is to Jameson, we could do that all day long.  That is why I'm glad to have my beautiful red kitchen aid [a definite need--Jameson just knew to buy it for me].  And I am ready to start cooking.

What do we want (need).... well, when you get married, I've noticed you instantly become baby hungry.  I find myself looking for clothes online, and then just drawn into the baby clothes section. When it comes to church, that's the worst. See, when you go to singles wards and you're just looking for cute guys. You go to married wards and you want to find the cute babies.  Last week for church, Jameson picked where we would sit in Sacrament. When I went over to sit by him, he whispered to me "I sat behind this cute baby girl, because I knew you would want to see her." He's just so caring- or baby hungry himself.  He later admitted that he wants a baby just so he could play with it in church like all the other couples.

We also want a little fluffy puppy. This, of course, can wait till the distant future (when we live somewhere that allows pets), but we can't help but adore the pictures!  The mini pomeranians are adorable.  Last night when we were falling asleep we just kept asking if the other liked that dog name (usually it's baby names).  It was wonderful.

So what do we really need?  I guess we'll have to wait and see...

The Married Life

Well, we're married!! (Emma and Jameson that is)  And life has never been so great. We've been married for two months, which doesn't seem like long at all, and yet to us it feels like forever!  Jameson has been going to school, and I have been working at Stone's, a car dealership, as a receptionist.  Jameson is still looking for a job.

Most of the days we just go to school and work and then come home, make dinner, and watch a movie.  (It's a good thing we have a wide variety of dvds.)  But we are about as normal as a couple could get.  We might even be a bit boring.  Maybe a blog will make us cool.  A blog...writing nonsense from my soul and sending it off into a void.

We will post more soon, when there is actually something to post about.
